On October 7, 2016, the City of Chicago posted openings for 15 Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) positions, following approval of the COPA ordinance by a 39-8 City Council vote on October 5. The application's listed salary for each position is $85,596 per year—an entry salary around $30,000 more than IPRA's lowest-paid investigator—and includes a list of duties, qualifications and job requirements.
